We’re thrilled to announce that the second draft of our upcoming horror/comedy feature film ‘FOREVER FAMILY’ is officially complete.
At Quandary Productions, this marks another exciting milestone as we move the project into the development stage. With the script now taking shape, we’re actively refining the story and preparing funding applications, with the goal of heading into production next year.
About the Film
Synopsis:After a death in the family, Rose returns home to help settle the estate, only to discover her grieving mother has resurrected her father through a new body replacement service – and is now determined to “perfect” her entire family.
Blending biting satire with heartfelt family drama and escalating domestic horror threat, Forever Family explores grief, denial, and the terrifying lengths we’ll go to avoid letting go. Equal parts unsettling and absurd, the film balances emotional truth with sharp comedic edge, asking: What does it really mean to keep a family together?
A Story About Grief… and Upgrades
At its core, ‘FOREVER FAMILY’ is about loss and the ways we attempt to control the uncontrollable. Through the lens of horror and dark comedy, the story examines modern anxieties around perfection, technology, and the commodification of human experience.
Rose’s homecoming quickly spirals into a nightmare as her mother embraces a radical solution to loss—one that promises renewal but threatens individuality. As the family begins to transform in increasingly disturbing ways, Rose must confront not only what her mother has done, but what it means to accept imperfection, mortality, and change.

With the latest draft complete we are now:

Our aim is to move into production next year, and we’re excited to share further updates as the project evolves.

And what of ‘STILL LIFE’? We are now picture locked and have a tight cut hovering around the 2-hour mark and we’re currently focussing on the sound mix (foley, design, music, etc.). All is running smoothly and we even screened the latest version to a handful of people close to us last weekend and it went down a treat. We are officially out of the uphill slog that is the early stages of an edit and into the fun refinement stage. More to come soon!
