Ingrid Jungermann

When planning our Web Series ‘This is Good’ last year, Tom Bridger make an effort to see what others were doing in the medium (already two of our Artist of the Month posts have been in this growing medium – ‘High Maintenance’ and ‘Break Ups’). Along the way he brought to my attention another couple of series’ by Ingrid Jungermann – who has written and directed several short films and co-created the acclaimed web series’, ‘THE SLOPE’ and ‘F to 7TH’. Her work has screened at various film festivals around the world, including Rotterdam International Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Outfest and Frameline. She is currently developing a feature film called ‘WOMEN WHO KILL’, a crime comedy about love and death. Ingrid was one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 Faces of Independent Film and Out Magazine’s 100 People of the Year in 2012 and Go Magazine’s 100 Women We Love in 2014. She is an MFA candidate at NYU Graduate Film School.

‘THE SLOPE’ is a comedy that follows the lives of a lesbian couple navigating their way through modern-day Park Slope, Brooklyn. One year into their relationship, Ingrid and Desiree continue to hash out a power dynamic that ends up making them look homophobic, superficial and ultimately, perfect for one another.

‘F TO 7TH’ is the follow up Web Series by Ingrid a comedy about Ingrid and her descent into pre-middle age. Judgmental as ever, Ingrid struggles to find herself in a world where sexuality and gender have left her old-fashioned lesbianism behind.

We need more female voices in Film, TV, and Web Content. Hopefully promoting the work of more female artists like Ingrid will encourage future generations to create their own content. If you’re an artist, filmmaker, comedian, musician or actor, who would like to be considered for October’s Artist of the Month Support Post, please email contact@quandaryproductions.com
